Who Stole the Beer?

9 weeks pregnant.

"You are now nine weeks pregnant (or in your tenth week if that's how you prefer to count it).

How your baby's growing

Your baby weighs under 10g - a fraction of an ounce - but is poised for rapid growth. All the body parts are now present, including arms, legs, eyes, genitals and other organs, though they're not yet fully formed. -wow... I've got a miniature me in there.-

How your life's changing

Physically you're unlikely to look pregnant unless this pregnancy isn't your first, but you may feel very tired and sick -YES!!- - not necessarily in the mornings - so cosset yourself. Pregnancy hormones can also play havoc in other ways -um, arguments?!- . Many women suffer from painful headaches and back problems such as sciatica and, unfortunately, these hormones also help make the perfect environment for vagina thrush. -oh and that too.. but come on.. who wants to read about Anna's vagina thrush?? LMAO. I joke, I don't have it. I hope.-

Staying active can mean a healthier pregnancy and a faster recovery after the birth. -hard to go jogging when you must remain close to toilet at all times- Don't overdo it though -no change of that happening- - choose a safe exercise programme recommended throughout pregnancy and make sure you don't get too hot.

It's early days, but how you sit and the activities that you choose to do in pregnancy can make all the difference in helping your baby to get into a good position for birth later on -eeek, how early do you have to start talking about it?!- and mean that you have the stamina for an active birth. It's a good idea to start thinking about these things now so that you can get into good habits."

I didn't take a belly pic. My belly still looks exactly the same. Maybe minus a little tone since my jogging has gone downhill, maybe minus a little weight due to the fact this baby does not want it's Mommy to be able to enjoy any type of food. It wants me to have dirty teeth too, as much as looking at a toothbrush makes me want to hurl.

"Maaaaamaaaa"

Well, as you all know, Dakota hasn't really been talking much yet. I haven't been worrying about it as all babies are different and I think the walking has really been her strong point (set off at 9mos!).

But anyway, this morning I was getting ready for church and Dakota was still in her crib. She has called me Mama before but I have never really been bowled over by the sincerity of it, always convincing myself her mouth just randomly made those sounds or it was really to me.

But this morning she started whining "maaamaaa maaaaaamaa" from the crib. I looked over at her and she started giggling. She did it again and I looked over and said "Yes Dakota?" She laughed her head off for a while longer and then repeated "maamaaa maamaa" and then made a come here signal with her hand. It was so cute. I went over and picked her up and told her "well done" and she just giggled even more! I am so blessed.

The cutest thing ever!! (NOT Dakota for once..)

OK, maybe the 2nd cutest thing ever after Dakota. Met TIO. Makes me want a puppy of our own so bad, but I am aware we can't handle it right now! No need to remind me... I will just live through our neighbors and this cute lil buffer! He is such a sweetie as well, Dakota wasn't one bit scared. I've said it before but she is DEFINITELY a brave girlie, not scared of anything!

How cute is she???

I am in love with my little princess so much.

Anyway, so sorry for my "absense". Been feeling rather ill ALL the time and very busy with residency paperwork I forgot to get filled in and want to get done as soon as possible. I hate administration.

Plus, I'm in a real rut and feel too tired and sick to think. So sorry.

8 weeks pregnant.

Decided I am going to do a "weekly" one of these. I think the belly pic was a bad idea for now, but hey, I've started it now and I didn't want to bore you all with facts without actually posting pictures. So here we go.

"You are now eight weeks pregnant (or in your ninth week if that's how you prefer to count it).

How your baby's growing

The tiny tail is disappearing and so many changes have taken place that your baby has changed from an embryo and is now officially a fetus -woohooo- . This is the critical stage when your baby's organs are forming.

The baby is now constantly moving and shifting, though you won't be able to feel anything for several weeks -phew, I still enjoy my sleep. Not looking forward to be being kept away by bubs too!- . The arms have grown and the hands are now flexed at the wrists and meet over the heart -all together, "awwwww"- . The legs are lengthening and the feet may be long enough to meet in front of the body. It's still almost impossible to tell whether you're going to have a boy or a girl - although reading old wives' tales for predicting gender can be fun. -wanna take a guess for me? I might start up a "guessing game" so you can all guess.-

How your life's changing

Though you're unlikely to have gained much weight -actually lost some with the sickness, though the belly pic may suggest otherwise- , parts of you are certainly growing, like your breasts -hmm, no? I wish.- . Less obvious is the increase in your blood volume but by the end of pregnancy, you'll have 45 to 50 per cent more blood running through your veins to meet the demands of your baby -that's a LOT of extra blood-. The extra demands on your circulation can make you prone to varicose veins and piles -oh please no, piles... fun fun fun.-"

Let me know what you think of this feature, I will try to add my own running commentary and update with my own belly pics and how I am feeling. So, YES, very sick. Boobs are NOT growing, they are still as deflated as ever. Haven't put on any weight, lost about 3lbs, though a "pooch" is starting to develop. However, it was there from Dakota, so not sure if that is really the baby or not. Haven't felt any movement yet but wasn't expecting any, can still sleep OK which is good because I need to take the sleeping when I can, feeling SO tired a lot of the time.

Thumb sucking

What do you all think of this?

Dakota has NEVER taken a pacifier. Well, she has taken it once or twice when she was a newborn, but she spat it out after a while and it was of very little use to her. We've always managed fine without it.

However, recently she has started using her thumb as an alternative. I am seriously trying to stop her (except for this one time I whipped out the camera) every time she puts her fingers near her mouth I tell her "NO!" and try and pull them out. I don't want want it to develop into a habit or mess up her teeth or anything like that. Now hubby thinks I am being too strict on it, I think I am a bit too. He says if it sooths her let her do it, she will "probably" grow out of it when she's older. I don't know what to do, I don't want her to be the kid teased at school because she has got the terrible habit of sucking her thumb subconsciously permanently, I don't want it to mess up her speech or leave her buck-toothed. But at the same time, I think I am being a bit of an evil Mommy about it. She is only 11mos.

Cold

I am so glad we decided to have our "final farewell" to pool days for the year yesterday. Today I am SO COLD. Brrrrr. I dressed Dakota in a dress this morning and now I feel like a neglectful Mommy. She won't let me change her into anything else, she is in love with her dresses. I guess when a girl wants to wear a dress, a girl has to wear a dress, no matter how cold?

Daiy Dose of Cuteness... Pool Day Photos

Trying a new way of posting pics by doing a slideshow. I did it so that maybe you wouldn't have to scroll through so many pics, but I'm not sure whether I prefer it or not. Don't get as good a look at the pics. Let me know what you think!

Pool Day

Had a pool day today, wow the pool was busy. I thought, there will be barely anyone there, it was the busiest day we have ever gone! Weird. Wednesday in September.. it will most likely be our last pool day of the year because it's going to start to get a good bit colder now. I met a lady from church and her daughter there though, who is the same age as Dakota. They could have gotten on better, but weren't too bad. They were very interested in each other at the start! Going to try and get Dakota used a bit more around other babys, anticipating the arrival of her OWN brother or sister next year! Eeek. Pics from the day coming up later.

100 posts

My "Wordless Wednesday" post today, was my 100th post. Woohhooo. Happy 100th post to me! Hopefully there will be hundreds and hundreds more to come. If I force myself not to lose interest!

On 102 now.

Heath Insurace confirmation...

FINALLY arrived today. Over a month after I ordered it.

So here's the background - I have to get insurance as I am not entitled to the free healthcare here. Being the snob I am, not sure how I would cope with it anyway. I definitely want an English speaking Doctor. I sent away with my money and everything etc, around the 10th August (I made a blog about it and took note) believing it would arrive a week later.

Over 3 weeks later when I had discovered I was pregnant, wanting to get things organized, I rang the company. They told me it had been sent out but probably just hadn't arrived yet. I said it that I was under the impression it was meant to arrive after about a week, they told me yes it was. I said, "Oh, but I sent away over 3 weeks ago" they said it must be the posting company's fault and not theres. I explained my situation and they said they could not start looking into available Drs etc. for me until I had my insurance confirmation.

When I asked if it got lost in the post, they said wait another week and see if it arrives. It didn't arrive.

Rang again, asked them to send out my confirmation again. They finally agreed. This time it arrived, just over a week later. But at least it's here.

It has nothing on it except the number to ring and my details which I got for confirmation. I don't see why they could just not have started getting things organized before! Now I have to ring up again (tomorrow because I left it too late today) and they said it may take up to a month to find a Doctor. Also, with this company, it will probably take 10 months instead of 1. In which case, the baby will already be here.

I only want to get things confirmed! Jeez.

Worldless Wednesday : No Dakotas were harmed in the making of these pictures.

Names for new baby.

7 weeks and thinking of it already! I promised myself I wouldn't discuss them too early on this time, but I *think* I have decided what I would like already. I know, once we find out what we are having and I start thinking about more names, others will probably come into my head, but just wanted to get out there what we are considering. Cause I love names. :-)

So... if the baby was born tomorrow.. names would be..

Amelia "Mia" Rose
Elias / Elijah Daniel

Let me know what you think. Nothing is set in stone, but I just LOVE those names and DH is happy to use both of them. Probably more likely as Elias for a boy as it would be slightly more popular in Poland, though neither of them are. He is still vouching for Jonas for a boy. Girls - Amelia is a name both of us love, can't see us changing much on that, for now anyway.

Bedtime.

This little munchkin is NOT good with bedtime. How can you CIO with a baby like this? She doesn't cry, just never wants to sleep and wants the attention! Also, if she cries, we are all in the same room, means no sleep for either Daniel or I and I am always terrified of waking his parents, don't want them to think we are neglecting our child not tending to her needs at night! Haha. So I guess I just have to hope she grows out of it? We'll see.

If you have any ideas for the blog...

OK, I'm starting to get a bit of a writer's block these days. I know a lot of people haven't got the new link for my blog or it's just not interesting, I did say to myself I'm doing this blog for me, which I am, but the people commenting really keep me going, I've received a few lovely emails and if you follow I really think you should comment! I don't bite, promise!

Secondly, hate the fact all the posts these days seem to be off a bit of the same. I've been googling a few good ideas and trying to be creative and do things, I have a few great ideas which can't really come into use for a while yet, but if you have any ideas about ANYTHING at all you would like me to talk about, let me know! I really appreciate it!

New Banner and color scheme!

Decided to go for a change, as I was seeing my old one more and more frequently and wanted something a little "different", get bored seeing the same old one all the time! So, what do you think? Let me know!

Daily dose of cuteness... **blockway show** =)

Here she is looking cute. Clearly enjoying her new "blockway show" toys. She is in love with it, I got it off ebay. Crazy, I am starting to love that site again. Even on the Polish site they have a LOT of English things though they are quite often p&p from the UK. But hey, it is a LOT cheaper than the p&p from US or Canada, so I have to be thankful for that. I have got a ton of cute things for little to nothing, included some things for her birthday... (it won't be a complete no effort put in event after all!). She loves these news toys, played with it happily most of the day.

As you can see, she is just about getting the final use out of her summer clothes. It is still pretty hot here, I really don't want it to go cold. :(

Work.

2 weeks in... and starting to get more and more grateful for the weekend coming! I still enjoy it ok and I know it is only 2 hours a day but boy it is TOUGH. Add to that preggo hormones and tiredness and sickness and just BLECH!

Love, A xo.

Feeling sick.

Very sick.

This is my last baby. I swear, looking online for seabands because I don't think the pharmacies round here sell them. Actually I haven't checked but I doubt it. Bleh.

Your Blog Should Be Blue

Your blog is a peaceful, calming force in the blogosphere.

You tend to avoid conflict - you're more likely to share than rant.

Wordless Wednesday - She seems too little to be a big sister!

OK I know this thread is meant to be wordless but just wanted to reinforce a few of my last posts. YES I am pregnant and YES I have changed my blog name. If you have me in your link list you are going to have to change the link to metamorphosising.blogspot.com (I *think* - just check it.. preggo brain!), as I have gone crazy no surname. Thanks!

Love, A xo.

New blog address....

Just for those of you who followed my old link, I have changed the blog address. Starting to worry a bit more about posting personal info online so I am going to try and cut it down a bit, starting with my surname. So it's gone.

I am now..

metamorphosising.blogspot.com

metamorphosis /meta·mor·pho·sis/ (met?ah-mor´fah-sis) change of structure or shape, particularly, transition from one developmental stage to another, as from larva to adult.

I think that's me right now.

Some big news........

"Sometimes someday comes sooner than expected."

Dakota heart woof woof.

My neighbour came over a few days ago with her dog... it is the cutest little thing ever. But as a child growing up I was always PETRIFIED of dogs. My child, not so. I don't know whether this is a great thing or not!

"Iya!"

So this morning, Dakota went down for a nap around 10am and I put her back in her crib for a while as I was going to church. When I came back from church, 2 hours later, Daniel was down in the room with her, she must just have woken up.

I went down and while entering the room I said "Wheres my Kota baby?" and as I went in she started giggling and goes "iyaa". I'm pretty sure it was meant to be hiya, as I say that to her a lot. It was SO cute. I am the proudest Mommy ever right now, I know she is 11 months but she has definitely been more of a walking baby (since 9mos) than a talking one and with 2 different languages going on around here it's bound to be confusing.

Just thought I'd share saying as I am beaming about it right now!
